Paranormal Study Group with Ron Kolek and Special Guest Ciaran O'Keeffe

This month's special guest is Dr. Ciaran O'Keeffe, the star of the U.K. and Travel Channel television show "Most Haunted".  Ciaran is the U.K.'s leading Parapsychologist specializing in haunting phenomena.  He will discuss the role of the Parapsychologist in ghost hunting and will guide you through the basics in ghost hunting:

  • The history behind psychical research, parapsychology, and ghosts
  • Frequently asked questions some gadgets, methods, etc.
  • Interviewing tips and lessons on the most effective, yet basic, technique for ghost hunting

Ron, drawing upon his years of strange experiences in investigating the paranormal, will add his unconventional insight into the discussion, guaranteeing a lively dialogue.

About the special guest speaker:

Dr. Ciaran O'Keeffe (most noted for his role on "Most Haunted") is a psychologist operating on science's fringe.  He's been involved in many unusual projects:  the physiological effects of infrasound, ghost investigation of Hampton Court, an exorcism "training day," and lie detecting for the movie "Spy Game". 

His life has been, at times, diverse (rugby captain, jazz pianist, language teacher, psychiactric nurse, gorilla campaigner).  He is currently employed at Universite de Toulouse where he specializes in researching Parapsychology and Investigative Psychology.  His paranormal research has focused on testing mediums and psychics in the laboratory and also field work examening haunting experiences. Additional research has included psychic criminology and "Christian" parapsychology (e.g., exorcism, possession, and stigmata). 

Aside from academic research, which he has published and presented at numerous conferences, more recently he has participated in various documentaries with National Geographic and Discovery, examining the use of psychics in criminal investigations and the role of infrasound in understanding haunting experiences.  He has also provded accounts of his daily activities and research in order to inform the lead character in a recent ITV paranormal drama, "Afterlife".

About Ron Kolek:

Ron Kolek is the founder and lead investigator of The New England Ghost Project. With a degree in Environmental Science, he was the ultimate skeptic. However, a near death experience changed all that. No longer blinded by his skepticism, he now uses scientific background to seek the truth about the paranormal.

His exploits have been documented in many newspapers and magazine article including Woman’s World. He has been a guest on several radio stations and is internationally known with features in the U.K., Germany, and China.
