Jewel Beetle 2-Wing Necklace

Jewel Beetle wings are from the Sa Kaeo province in Southeast Thailand, bordering Cambodia.

These beetles fall to the ground at the end of their short life. Local farmers then collect the beetle wings to make this beautifully iridescent jewelry, providing income in a desperately underemployed region. We bring the raw materials to our studio to create finished jewelry pieces, including the Deva Jewel Wing Necklace.

Jewel wings are combined with intricately patterned Bali Silver to create this necklace. No beetles are harmed in the making of these pieces; the wings are collected after the natural life cycle. These wings are not treated in any way; the iridescent quality of the wings is completely natural.
