Archetypal Tarot for Sacred Inner Work

This in-depth workshop expands on the ideas introduced in Mariana Louis's book Tarot and the Psychology of the Soul: Exploring the Archetypal Mirrors of the Psyche and offers participants a grounded, experiential way to work with tarot as a tool for inner transformation. Together, we’ll explore the intersection of tarot and depth psychology, learning how the cards act as a psycho-spiritual bridge between the conscious mind and unconscious soul.
The workshop begins with an introductory lesson on the foundations of the archetypal tarot approach, and is followed by guided reflection, journaling, and hands-on tarot practice. Plenty of time will be given for spreads, discussion, and questions. This workshop is suitable for all experience levels and offers practical tools participants can continue using long after the workshop ends.
Participants Will Learn To:
- Use tarot to identify the core archetypal themes influencing their current life stage
- Explore shadow material presented by the cards in a grounded, supportive way
- Reorient their approach from divination to individuation
- Use curated spreads from the book for ongoing personal practice
Participants should bring a tarot deck and journal/pen.
Mariana Louis
Mariana Louis is a professional tarot counselor, author, and creator of Persephone's Sister, a platform for psycho-spiritual education and guidance. After stumbling upon Carl Jung's The Undiscovered Self in her grandfather's attic, Mariana began her study of depth psychology and the symbolic language of the soul. This led her to pursue a degree in Western Intellectual Traditions at the CUNY Graduate Center, where she focused on archetypal perspectives of occultism and transformations of the feminine principle.
Marrying this scholarship with her expertise in the tarot, Mariana formulated the archetypal tarot approach, which she teaches globally in her Archetypal Tarot School and other programs. Mariana is the author of the Tarot and the Psychology of the Soul: Exploring the Archetypal Mirrors of the Psyche, as well as the co-host of the Soror Mystica Podcast and a faculty member at the Jung Archademy.
